Skeins of wool yarn can do this too. They play the role of a static remover so that your clothes won’t electrify after the laundry. And if you add a drop of your favorite essential oil onto the woolen ball, your clothes will have a delicate fragrance after the wash.

If you are not happy with the quality of washing, don’t rush to blame the washing machine. First, make sure you're putting the powder into the right compartment. Yes, you read right. If you are not doing it properly, the quality of washing can be reduced and there may be light residue on the dark fabric.

It is clear where the fabric softener goes. Usually, this compartment is blue and a star or snowflake is drawn next to it. Most likely, you are doing everything right here. But what about powdered or liquid detergent?

There are two more compartments in the drawer, besides the one for fabric softener. Many people are accustomed to putting the washing powder in the left compartment and have no idea what the other one is for. In fact, if you look closely, you will see that they are labeled with symbols I and II (or A and B).

You need to put the washing powder in compartment I (or A) powder when you pre-soak. If you select a regular cycle (30, 45, 60 minutes or so), put the powdered detergent in compartment II (B).
