Famous Athlete Tattooed His Son’s Touching Letter After Cancer Took Away His Mother

What is similar between tattoos and diamonds? They can stay with you forever! Even though there is a way to get rid of them, it is really difficult to bring about. Therefore, your decision to acquire any of those must be rational and not impulsive.

People get tattoos for the strangest reasons. Some people simply adore their kids and want to immortalize their names on their skin; others mourn over lost relatives and want their memory to stay alive. In the case of the Colombian goalkeeper, Luis Delgado, the reason came from the deepest pain in his soul and the strongest love in his heart: his wife and children.

Luis lost his wife Tatiana García to breast cancer. Her heroic struggle had lasted six years. Unfortunately, in the end, the terrible disease turned out to be stronger and took the life of a young woman, loving wife, and caring mother.

The couple welcomed two amazing boys – Mathias and Franco. The younger child once wrote a letter with text and a small drawing, making this tearful story become a reality. Luis remembers the events of one night when they arrived home late, after a very hectic day:

We didn’t have time to review his homework since it had already been 10:00 pm. We all were tired, so I had to tell him to go to bed because he had to get up early.

Hours later, after midnight, Luis went to bed and found the letter from Mathias:

Dad, I know it's hard for you to be without my mom, but I'll always be with you, I love you, Dad, you do lots of things for me and I for you.

The Colombian goalkeeper confessed that he was immediately filled with tenderness and immense happiness for his family. First, he didn’t know how to acknowledge the most significant words in his life until he came up with a great idea: he decided to tattoo his son’s letter to carry it with him forever.

Breast cancer took the most precious part of Delgado’s family. Surely, it is a tragedy that had no way out. Only if it had been detected earlier, it could have been avoided. This type of cancer is treatable, for example, with a certain protein that halts the metastasis.

Apart from that, it is also important to point out that there are measures that can be implemented to prevent breast cancer from developing. First of all, it is important to be aware of the most common risk factors.

Luis, Mathias, Franco, and Tatiana will always be bound by the immense love that united them as a family, and that will accompany them for the rest of their lives. Today, there is another bond between them; the purest words and feelings of the child; the memory of a mother who fought until her last breath; and the perpetuated letter on Luis’ arm that he will carry with pride forever.

Rest in peace, dear Tatiana.
