Chain migration

In 2006, Melania gained her citizenship. It is believed that the Knavs then took advantage of Melania’s citizenship to validate their residence in the US. Essentially, they were beneficiaries of ‘chain migration’. Oddly, President Trump has strongly kicked against ‘chain migration’.

A lot of people have questioned the president’s stand on the matter, especially as the White House refused to comment.

They have green cards

Just this week, Michael Wildes, the immigration lawyer representing the Knavs, said the couple was living in the US on green cards. The document allows them indefinite stay in the US, while their citizenship is in processing.
