Courtney Love’s way of raising her daughter

Frances and her mother enjoy spending time together, playing guitar, and creating arts. They even live one minute away from each other. Love often gushes about her daughter and her upbringing, saying that she wanted to give her girl a normal childhood. But there are some things that might have led to Frances' addiction.

It’s a well-known fact that both the rocker and the actress previously abused drugs. So, nobody was surprised when Courtney Love revealed she took heroin while being pregnant with her daughter. Back then, she was pretty confident that the drug would not harm her child’s health. As she says:

I used it once then stopped. I knew she would be fine.

Celebrating sobriety anniversary

In an Instagram post, the 25-year-old admitted she suffered from some kind of dependence (she actually didn’t reveal any details). But now, she is perfectly fine, healthy, and sober. Cobain decided to make this pure moment public to put aside her fear of being misunderstood or judged.

She also advises other people to constantly develop and improve their lives because the change is only possible when you want it. It’s not the easiest path, but the model wanted to change for those around her, including her beau, Matthew Cooke.

Family influence

Was there any family influence? Probably, as genetics greatly affects whether a person is at risk of becoming addicted to alcohol or drugs. Family-related risk factors, such as conflicts as well as depressed or abusive parents, make the situation even worse.

But still, it doesn’t determine our lives as many people from addicted families never become addicted in the first place. And growing up in a celebrity family also doesn't mean these children cannot overcome their addictions. There are many great examples, and Michael Douglas' son is one of them.
