January 18, 2018 14:16

Dolly Parton started out as a songwriter for more established acts. In 1967, she was ready to take on the world. With her the release of her first album  Hello, I'm Dolly,  Dolly began her journey in the music industry that would last several decades.

She holds the record of being the most celebrated and honored female country musicians of all time. With over 3,000 songs to her credit, 25 of her greatest songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard country music charts, a record achieved by only one other artiste,  Reba McEntire.

Sales of singles, digital downloads, and albums have grossed her over 100 million dollars worldwide. Also in her kitty are ten Country Music Association Awards, nine Grammy Awards, seven Academy of Country Music Awards, three American Music Awards and three Academy Award nods.

"I Will Always Love You" is one of her most popular songs. It made the charts on two separate occasions, once as performed by Dolly and the second as performed by the late Whitney Houston.

She just won two Guinness World Records.

2018 is already looking bright for the country music legend. Dolly just added two new awards to her collection. She was recently certified as having the Most Hits on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart by a Female Artist and also the Most Decades with a Top 20 Hit on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart.

Speaking after the award, Dolly was full of appreciation to the millions of people who supported her music over the years. She also notes how honored she feels to have been given the award.

You never know when you start out with your work how it’s going to turn out, but to have these two world records makes me feel very humbled and blessed!

Dolly has scored more Top 20 country hits than legendary icons like Elvis Presley and George Jones.

Her children’s album I Believe in You was released in September of  2017 by Dolly Records and RCA Nashville. Proceeds from sales are to be donated to the Parton's Imagination Library. Dolly continues to make inspiring music and her oldies remain a favorite for fans the world over.
