If you had your mind blown when Kate Middleton stepped out of the hospital literally hours after giving birth to baby No. 3 wearing perfect makeup, a nice dress, and heels, you weren't the only one. It looks like Serena Williams was also in awe of the remarkable feat.
Serena Williams as a loving mom
The tennis star says motherhood has given her a new sense of confidence, as she looks to surpass Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam singles titles.
However, as Williams describes in a Vogue article, the motherhood is rarely smooth sailing. For Serena, health challenges arose as soon as she delivered baby Alexis.
But once the new mom recovered after a terrifying six days, motherhood started being a bit easier. In the article, she opens up about the doubts she felt:
Sometimes I get really down and feel like, Man, I can’t do this. No one talks about the low moments - the pressure you feel, the incredible letdown every time you hear the baby cry.
Her excitement for the royal family
On Monday, April 23, the British royal family welcomed another baby to the monarchy, and it's all anyone can talk about. While recently chatting with a magazine, Serena Williams commented on Kate Middleton.
The 23-time Grand Slam title holder in tennis was seriously impressed with Middleton and her ability to throw on a pair of heels after giving birth.
I was really busy, but I saw the baby, and Kate was dressed, and I was like, 'Oh, maybe she had him a couple days ago. That's one heck of a woman! Let me tell you: I was not in heels. I thought she gave birth maybe two days before! Wow.
This is a huge compliment coming from the Serena Williams, tennis superstar and all-around icon. Williams may not have immediately strapped on heels, but she did return to the court a mere five months after giving birth to her daughter, Alexis Olympia.
Not only that, but she won a Grand Slam while pregnant, although this goes to show how tough pregnant people are in general.
