If Britons had the power to determine who would be the next king, they would choose Prince William over his father.

William is more popular than his father

A recent poll showed the number of people who want to skip Prince Charles and move to Prince William. There is also an unsubstantiated rumor that the Queen herself would prefer it this way.

However, royal author Ingrid Seward puts down Prince Charles' unpopularity to a passing phase. She insists that the recent anniversary of Princess Diana's death is partly responsible for that. And interestingly, she thinks Charles would do well as a king.

He isn't in a hurry to be King

Prince William, on his part, does not seem eager to usurp his father's birthright.

While he and the older royal do not particularly get along, thanks to the infamous affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles, William appears content with ruling after his father.

His public reputation is rock solid, and his family life is worthy of admiration.

The world is currently awaiting the arrival of William's third baby with wife Kate Middleton, but Kensington Palace has other news in the meantime.

The official Twitter account of the palace announced yesterday that The Duke of Cambridge had written the foreword to a book on mental health.

The book, The Stranger on the Bridge: My Journey from Despair to Hope, was written by the award-winning mental health campaigner Jonny Benjamin.

Mental health advocacy

It comes as no surprise, because William is a vocal supporter of mental health advocacy, and in fact, he works with his wife and brother on related issues with their Heads Together Campaign.

People online are touched by William's gesture nonetheless. Led by the ecstatic author of the book, they are full of praise for his very necessary effort towards addressing the problem.
