Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank made tabloids excited with the delightful news of their engagement on Monday. Buckingham Palace didn’t wait long and quickly released the official engagement photos of the happy couple. We couldn’t help but notice Princess Eugenie’s padparadscha sapphire engagement ring that looks very similar to her mother’s one.
Jack Brooksbank, 31, is a London socialite, who works as the Brand Ambassador of Casamigos Tequila, the award-winning brand owned by George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman. He was introduced to his wife-to-be in 2010 on a skiing trip.
Princess Eugenie, 27, is the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew, the Queen’s second-born son. When Prince got engaged to Sara Ferguson in 1986, he presented her a beautiful oval-shaped ruby ring that bears a striking resemblance to the one that Jack Brooksbank gave to Princess Eugenie.
This is Princess Eugenie’s engagement ring.
And this is her mother’s one.
Prince Andrew designed the ring himself, which costed at that time $35,000. Now, its value went up to around $100,000.
The value of her daughter’s ring is unknown, but her wedding is sure to be the event of the year if it’s not going to be outshined by another royal wedding – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will marry in May 2018.
The couple got engaged in Nicaragua, and the wedding will be in autumn 2018 at George's Chapel in Windsor. The queen repeatedly called Jack “nice young man” and blessed the couple’s union, which made them very thrilled.
Sarah Ferguson shared her excitement about her daughter’s wedding on Twitter.
Jack’s 91-year-old granny, Joanna Newton, commented on her grandson’s upcoming wedding:
I’m thrilled about it. It’s amazing. I would never have thought it for a moment that it was going to happen and we are all very happy. I never thought he would get married to a Royal.
Eugenie and Jack celebrated their engagement by having a party and dancing to Bruno Mars’ hit song “Marry You”.
Let’s raise the glasses for the happy couple!
