February 19, 2018

The Grammys is the most prestigious night in the music industry drawing a crowd of A-list stars and for this reason, the host had better be really good.

The award ceremony lasts for three and a half hours, and it's up to the host to make sure the time moves by swiftly. This year's host, James Corden made sure of that.

James Corden hosted the Grammy for the second time

The British TV personality best known for his Late Late Show hosted the Grammys for the second time this year, at Madison Square Garden. He hosted it for the first time at the 59th Grammys in February 2017, replacing the former host LL Cool J.

He did great hosting it the first time and so he was brought back to host it for the second time at the 60th Grammy awards that held on January 28.

Highlights of Corden's performance as a host

Corden fused in some funny and creative moments into the awards ceremony, which kick-started with his sweet opening monologue. And just for laughs, he played a skit of his famous carpool karaoke, which featured him alongside Sting and Shaggy at the New York City subway.

The passengers' reaction was totally hilarious as they tried to get the trio to shut up. And that wasn't all: The Late Late Show host chose to hand out puppies as consolation prizes to those who missed out on the awards.

We're not sure how puppies are a good choice for consolation prizes, but they looked totally adorable. James proved to be a big fan of Jay-Z and his family as he explained some lyrics from Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" after sighting him and his family in the audience.

Another big winner of the night is Kendrick Lamar as he bagged five awards. The female artists were nowhere to be seen, as only one female artist took home an award from the main award category (Alessia Cara for Best New Artist category).

It wasn't all about the awards as most of the stars wore white roses in support of the 'Time's Up' movement.

The Grammy Awards was a win-win for everybody, that is if you consider getting a puppy as a good replacement for the Gramophone. It was also really great to see the music stars joining the 'Time's Up' movement.

Congrats to all the winners and nominees, as well as we are looking forward to another exciting time next year.
