Tom Brady And Gisele Bundchen Have Remained A Strong Couple Despite All Problems

January 24, 2018

Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen have been married since 2009, but their relationship was not without its ups and downs. Their love story and their fight to remain united in the face of struggles are one of the many reasons these two are our #couplegoals.

In the beginning

Right from the point their love story was about to begin, the couple faced their first major hurdle.

Brady and Bundchen met on a blind date that was set up by a mutual friend. Bundchen told Vanity Fair in May 2009 that she knew the star quarterback was 'the one' on that first date.

The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, 'That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I've ever seen!'

Unfortunately, things did not go off to the best start. Brady was dating actress Bridget Moynahan. After the breakup, Moynahan found out she was pregnant.

Bundchen revealed that this happened about two and a half months after she began seeing Brady. She described it as a "challenging situation".

She told CBS This Morning that that pregnancy nearly destroyed things between herself and Brady.

I felt like I didn't know what to do. Do I just run away?' Years later, I couldn't have asked for a sweeter bonus child.

The proposal

In 2009, Brady asked Bundchen to marry him while they were on a private plane from New Jersey to Boston, TMZ reported.

A few months later, the couple tied the knot at St. Monica Catholic Church in California. Brady told GQ that they actually had two weddings. One which they had two weeks after the proposal and another that took place in Costa Rica.

The family gets bigger

The couple's first child, Benjamin Rein Brady, was born on December 8, 2009. In 2012, Bundchen gave birth to their daughter, Vivian Lake Brady.

Deflategate

In 2015, Brady became a center of a big scandal after it was reported that his team may have deflated matches on purpose during the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. The quarterback's name and reputation suffered a massive setback.

A source who spoke to E! News said that the scandal affected the couple's marriage. Brady was reportedly withdrawn and difficult to live with. Bundchen, despite being supportive, was feeling frustrated at his attitude.

Brady and Bundchen went through quite the ordeal at the time, and things were shaky. However, the sky became clearer after the judge threw out the four-game suspension from the NFL. As he returned to the field, he and his wife began working on rebuilding their marriage.

A power couple

Brady and his wife made it to the list of Forbes' Most Power Couples in 2016 with an estimated net worth of about $540 million.

The Super Bowl

Gisele Bundchen took to social media on January 22 to celebrate with her man as his team will now be participating in the 2018 Super Bowl.

What a game!!! Congratulations my love! So happy for you and your teammates! #gopats.

It looks like the Brady family are now in a great, happy, and celebratory place. They have been able to hold on to their love for each other during trying times, and they are proof that anything is possible when two partners are willing to commit to making it work.
