How it all began

Gavin was born on April 8, 1931, in Los Angeles. Before pursuing acting career, he studied at the military academy. The star even took part in the Korean War where he served as an air reconnaissance officer. After it, a family friend wanted to make a film about John’s aircraft career. This was exactly how his acting began.

What are his best roles?

The actor is also famous for no less prominent roles in some of the classics of the world cinema – Imitation of Life, Spartacus, and Psycho.
