Chrissy Teigen Opened Up About Her Experience With PPD And The Support She Received From Husband John Legend

Date December 28, 2017

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are literally #couplegoals. Watching how they express their love to each other is very touching. This couple seems to have a perfect life. But, as we all know, there's no ideal relationship. Chrissy and John also faced their fair share of marital struggles.

In several interviews, they have both revealed that one of the hardest periods in their marriage was when they tried to make a baby. We can imagine that. Eventually, they had to opt for IVF to conceive their little girl.

However, Chrissy recently revealed that it was not all smooth sailing. In fact, she suffered from Postpartum depression (PPD) not long after Luna was born. It was something she never expected, and this experience was a real challenge in her marriage.

Chrissy explained how she felt after giving birth to Luna in April 2016.

I couldn’t get out of bed. I kept all my pyjamas in the pantry because I didn’t want to go upstairs. It’s really hard to know how privileged you are and still feel frustrated, angry and lonely. It makes you feel like more of a b---h.

John was also unsure of how to handle the situation. Speaking to Us Magazine, he said:

It’s a struggle to be a good partner and help. I think the key for us was finally understanding what was happening and getting help.

Now, after all these struggles, the couple can live a normal life. Together with their daughter, Chrissy and John experience the best moments and impress their fans all over the world.

Chrissy never misses a chance to express her love to her husband. Describing John as a 'beautiful person', she says, "Kids, friends and work are hard, but John is the easiest part of everything."
