Homelessness is equally tragic for all living and breathing creatures. It's upsetting to know that this simple notion is not so common. The sad thing is oppression is inflicted not only on street animals but even the previously cared pets!

One Green Planet shows alarming statistics about domestic animals being mistreated. For one homeless person in American, there are five stray animals. After their rescue, 30% of dogs are readopted while only 2-3% of cats find a home again. Not getting their desired breed of animal is one of the causes why even the self-proclaimed loving owners abandon their fluffballs.

Miraculous rescue of a horribly matted dog
The poor dog now named Zizou was found by animal control in Atlanta when helplessly wandering the streets. Some kind volunteers of Best Friends Atlanta, a no-kill animal shelter brought her in. Upon medical inspection, her fur was observed to be horribly matted in knots. They had to shave her entirely and also remove her teeth because they were rotten beyond repair. The procedure was not for the faint-hearted.
After her tireless restoration, the homeless dog who weighed only 6.6 lb (3 kg) regained a healthy body. Once neglected Zizou was back to being cute, and perfect. No, all she awaited, was a little more kindness. Finally, after about a month she was adopted by her loving mom. Zizou is special and incredibly precious to her new family.
How to falter these terrible statistics of animal cruelty?
A true animal lover would never buy the animals from breeders. They discard them on not getting the desired variety. Try adopting as it is not only the right thing to do but also a fruitful reward.
You will have a companion who is pre-trained and also cost you less. You won't be purchasing or owning a life but saving one.

The power to change these figures is only in our hands. Self-breeding is highly unnecessary and unsustainable and it should be dis-practiced. Share this and be a pillar for the cause devoted to pets!
