Was She Right Or Wrong? This Mom Got Really Wild After A Service Dog Owner Refused Her Request To Pet An Animal!
The statement that ‘a dog is man’s best friend’ has become a daily reality as dogs have served important roles as friends, family members, and even partners, as their loyalty to their owners has no boundaries.
Well, aside from being home pets, dogs have also served great purposes as service dogs by helping humans in performing various roles and they have even offered emotional support, comfort, and calm. However, while dogs have served these critical roles in the society, not all people have embraced the fact that they are special and need to be treated with a certain level of consideration.
"Service dogs are not pets you can just touch!"
Well, for one lady that ended up being an internet sensation, service dogs should be accompanied with huge signs that say that they should not be touched by strangers.
For Megan, who chose to train her dogs at a mall in Pittsburgh, a simple training session for her dogs took a turn for the worst when a woman showed up requesting if her little daughter could pet the cute doggies. Since they were service dogs, Megan’s colleague informed her that they could not be touched but to their surprise, the woman could not take their simple ‘no’ for an answer.
In a video from the encounter, which has literally gone viral on the internet, the woman can be seen demanding that Megan should use signage to inform people that their dogs should not be petted. What the woman failed to notice, however, is that all the service dogs had vests that indicated that they should not be petted by strangers, which made her anger even more outrageous.
In the end, her actions ended up attracting attention from people at the mall, not to mention the distress that was suffered by the innocent dogs. For them, a great outing at the mall went haywire simply because others were tempted to touch!
The event had people talking online
Well, while the altercation was unfortunate for all the parties involved, it attracted significant attention online and people had various types of opinions on the outcomes. For most, sentiments were sympathetic towards the dog handlers and their dogs who were victims.
Nancy Volk consoled the handlers by saying:
So sorry you had to go through that.
While Samantha Glunt remarked that:
I don’t owe you anything ... byeeeee” 😂😂😂😂😂 love you Megs!
To some, the video was just hilarious and they urged that even though the woman seemed to be in the wrong, there was a need to know both sides of the story too.
Vanessa McNally observed that Megan is not really the victim.
If you guys look at the newsflare, the article says the woman is now in fear to show herself in public and is getting harassed left and right when nobody even "heard her side."
You mean the side we saw on camera where she said SHE SHOULD HAVE A SIGN. As if someone owes her a reason not to pet their dog? Lol what a way to play the victim card
Sara Smyly supported another view of the story and she empathized with the mother.
Girl, I am seeing this video everywhere! You’re internet famous 😂
But for real, I am so sorry this happened to you. Sad people are so disrespectful to you and Nala.
Regardless of whatever transpired, the event raised important questions on the place that service dogs occupy in the society and the need for more awareness on the critical role they play in the lives of their owners.
So, after seeing the video, what do you feel about the whole saga? Was she wrong or is she just misunderstood?
