Labrador Shocked His Owners By Giving Birth To A Green Puppy, Named After Princess Fiona From 'Shrek'

Elaine Cooper was extremely surprised when her favorite chocolate labrador gave birth to an unusual green puppy.
Two-year-old mommy Milly had four adorable male puppies and one girl during her first labor. But it was not only the gender that distinguished a female puppy from everybody else, as her main difference was the unusual green color of the fur.
The owner Elaine and her husband Mark have already chosen a name for the unique puppy – Fifi, after Princess Fiona from Shrek.
What might be the reason?
Experts identified the possible reason for the green color. The Spanish vet Daniel Valverde believes it was caused by biliverdin, a green bile pigment found in the placenta.
This condition is very rare, and such a special puppy is believed to be the third case in the world.
By the way, when Fifi was born her owners first thought she is black, as the placenta made her look black. But after some time they were in a complete shock when the puppy turned out to be green.
She came out in the sack so we thought that it was the placenta that made her look very dark. We thought she was a black Labrador. But when Milly started to lick the placenta off she actually had a green tinge. We were laughing and saying no, this can’t be green.
Not only owners were shocked to see such an unusual puppy but also everybody else. People keep claiming Fifi looks adorable and very cute.
