It has been a year already since Hollywood’s former bachelor George Clooney and his wife Amal Alamuddin Clooney welcomed their twin babes. The official announcement was made by the couple’s spokesperson, Stan Rosenfield.
The birth of the twins was indeed a major milestone, as many fans of the couple were keen to find out if babies were part of their arrangement. Apparently, Clooney is a sucker for babies.
The couple held out on revealing the sexes of their babies despite prodding by fans and celebrity friends. There were steady rumors suggesting that they were expecting a boy and girl though. Funny enough, that is exactly what they had.
One year after, proud dad is celebrating his twins, Ella and Alexander, as they become 1-year-old each. Clooney gave a sneak peek at what went down during the children’s birthday bash.
Yesterday was their birthday. They are one year. They were kind of on Europe time, so they were sleeping during most of the day. We had a cake, [we were] waiting, and we wake them up and show it to them, and then they go back to sleep.
Being a father has changed how the "Ocean's Eleven" sees life. With a long list of movies to his credit and even more accolades, he still says that the best role he has ever played in life is “Dad” to his children.
Fatherhood has changed Clooney in many ways. He is no longer the reclusive bachelor and now dedicates his time to diaper duty and meal shifts with his wife Amal. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney even took extra shifts just after the babies arrived.
I'm a very good diaper guy which I didn't know I would be.
For now, his biggest role remains taking care of his children, a task he dedicates all his attention to.
The first thing you think is, 'I hope I don't screw this up. You are really responsible for two kids. I want them to be happy. I want them to have a sense of humor. I want them to be interested in things. I want them to be compassionate about other people's plights. Because that's the thing, you know? You have to have some sort of empathy.
It’s a whole new world for the Clooneys with baby Ella and Alexander. All the best George. You need it.
