Kate Middleton Speaks About Children's Hospices In The UK

The Duchess of Cambridge has always been passionate about the welfare of children. In January 2012, she was named Royal Patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH). Since then, she has lent her voice to the call for more attention to the plight of children receiving palliative care.

As at 2013, there were 49 hospice services in the UK. The duchess hopes that with more awareness, families managing children with life-limiting conditions will get better opportunities for support.

This year, she again showed support for the cause, as she released a statement at the start of Children’s Hospice Week.

A support is crucial for children receiving palliative care. They and their families often need help every hour of every day, both in hospices and at home.

In the letter, the duchess also spoke candidly about motherhood and the joy she experienced spending time with her children.

For her, all families should get the same opportunity to spend time they with the loved ones despite their condition. Although the duchess is still on maternity leave which started before the birth of Prince Louis, she attended the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex).

The Duchess of Cambridge is known to be somewhat of a workaholic, and it is no surprise that she showed up at the wedding. Seeing as the maternity leave is not a rule, there are speculations that she may be back to work in no time.
