Britney Spears’ ex-husband Kevin Federline demands three times more money on the childcare he receives now. The sudden request was caused, perhaps, by the singer’s amazingly successful Las Vegas residency, Britney: Piece of Me that reportedly gathered $137 million during the four-year run.
Kevin Federline has recently asked his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan to compose a letter asking Britney to increase the monthly childcare payment on bringing up their children, Preston, 12, and Jayden, 11.
Spears’ ex is now receiving $20,000 every month after the pop-singer lost sole physical and legal custody in 2008 as the result of health breakdown.
On May 22, Mark Vincent Kaplan made another loud statement, where he explained the reasons for the increase as well as mentioned the desired amount his client would like to receive from his ex:
Kevin is asking for the reasonable needs of the children to be met, which is at least three times the amount Kevin is currently getting. This is based on her earnings which have been publicly reported.
He also added they don’t want to start any trial, but in case it will be necessary, there won’t be any difficulties in launching it:
This is the choice they have made, and they will now have to deal with it. We are still open to try and settling this without judicial intervention.
Britney Spears’ dad Jamie calls Kevin a greedy man and says he is not ready to pay him a cent over the current amount unless the complete accounting on the expenses is introduced. Mr. Spears has doubts whether the money is spent exactly on the kids’ needs and wants to check if the children are getting everything they need.
Hopefully, the story will find its end without a court trial. We wish Kevin and Britney find common language and make a sensible decision upon the problem.
