Halloween star admitted it's been hard to get hired with age, and shared her displeasure about women being condemned for growing older in Hollywood with People:

I think it’s humiliating to see the media frenzy when somebody gets older and they don’t look the way they used to look. It’s like dancing with the devil. I’ve danced with it for a long time, and it’s been okay. But I don’t want to be punished for the natural evolution of being human, and I will be if I stay in it too long.

But even such a strong and outspoken woman like Jamie Lee sometimes gets a bit self-conscious, and she has her own strategy to ditch those feelings.

Jamie Lee's secret to feeling great every day

Curtis admitted that she struggles with self-confidence from time to time. We all can relate to some days being worse than others; and for the actress reaching her 60's, those bad days happen more often.

But Jamie Lee discovered there's one thing that brings her down, and she decided to avoid it altogether. What is it, you ask? It's something we do every day, which is simply looking in the mirror.

As Curtis revealed to Good Housekeeping:

I don’t know if men wake up, look in the mirror and hate themselves. Most women do. So I have a big secret: I don’t look in the mirror.

It might be hard to believe, but Jamie Lee claims it works for her, and we can't say it doesn't make sense.

It takes a lot of confidence to go through avoiding mirrors, but for Curtis it's an easy choice:

When I get out of the shower, I have a choice: I can dry myself off looking in the mirror, or I can dry myself off with my back to it. I turn my back to the mirror, and I feel great!

It's a good thing Jamie Lee is naturally good-looking and she can afford not looking in the mirror. Whatever works for her, right?

Proudly embracing her age

On top of not bothering about looking older, Jamie Lee also strives to be the new example for older women, and wants to age with grace, as she shared with AARP:

If I can challenge old ideas about aging, I will feel more and more invigorated. I want to represent this new way. I want to be a new version of the 70-year-old woman. Vital, strong, very physical, very agile. I think that the older I get, the more yoga I'm going to do.
