Recently, however, the situation took a huge turn as Meghan and Harry announced their pregnancy. This happy news hit the Markle clan hard, and while they're overjoyed for their royal relative, there's still uncertainty about what role, if any, they will play in the future baby's life.

Thomas Markle Jr. reacts to baby news

Shortly after Meghan's pregnancy announcement, Thomas Jr. spoke with Daily Mail to share his feelings about the news.

His happiness for the Duchess of Sussex was quickly replaced by concern about never meeting his niece or nephew:

It's a little bittersweet because of all that's been going on but I hope our family can be involved in his or her life.

Thomas Jr. hopes that Baby Sussex can bring Meghan and Markles back together, but he's still concern about the probability of that happening:

Of course I would like to meet my new niece or nephew. The Markle family has been so split up from the beginning, with the wedding, with everything I mean, something has to happen. Meg just can't go on pretending she doesn't have a family.

Samantha Markle shares her brother's thoughts

Meghan's troublesome half-sister was also happy to hear the baby news speaking with The Sun. Just like Thomas Jr., Samantha hopes the child can bring the family back together, and for her father, Thomas Markle, to be in Meghan's life once again:

I hope my dad is included and at a proper time. If he is excluded, I won’t be happy. It is in the best interests of the baby for my dad to be included.

At this time, it's the most important that Meghan focuses on her pregnancy and makes decisions that are best for her and the baby.
