Nevertheless, there are still people who believe Paul will never be able to celebrate his birthday, as he is not alive for quite a long time, since the fatal crash in 1966.

The famous myth

There is quite a popular myth called 'Paul is dead', which seems to be a bizarre one, but still, there are a lot of people who believe it. According to the myth, Paul McCartney passed away in 1966 and was later replaced by a lookalike.

It started in 1969 when the DJ of the Detroit's underground station WKNR-FM received a weird phone call from the man who claimed The Beatles’ singles contain hidden signs that Paul McCartney is not alive.

Paul’s reaction

Taking into account that the myth has become rather popular and many people still believe it, Paul McCartney decided to share his opinion regarding such an unusual statement. During one of the interviews, the legendary singer claimed these are all rumors that have nothing to do with reality.

Perhaps the rumor started because I haven't been much in the press lately. I have done enough press for a lifetime, and I don't have anything to say these days. I am happy to be with my family and I will work when I work. I was switched on for ten years and I never switched off. Now I am switching off whenever I can. I would rather be a little less famous these days.

Many people still believe Paul McCartney was replaced by a lookalike after the fatal crash in 1966, but the singer claims the story was made up.
