While appearing at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Anderson Cooper explained why he rejected Andy Cohen when they were set up on a blind date.

They were supposed to go out together when Anderson was a young reporter at NBC, and Andy – at CBS. They were about to have a short phone conversation to discuss some minor details, and that call ruined everything.

Cooper revealed it took only 45 seconds for him to refuse to go on a date with Cohen, and the reason is simple – he just violated the rule:

I knew within 45 seconds, I was never going on a date with Andy Cohen. I imagined him on a Bluetooth headset and gesticulating. He was all excited. And he violated my cardinal rule, which is he asked me about my mom within the first minute of talking to me.

Andy Cohen says they have a great chemistry, but being a couple isn't their destiny. Nevertheless, they are good friends and enjoy spending time together.

Even though Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper had never gone on a date, their friendship is really strong, and they are always ready to support each other no matter what!
