Elia Kazan, the popular Greek-American director and producer, made a huge impact on U.S. cinematography. The Tony and Oscar-winning director passed away in 2003 at his Manhattan apartment at the age of 94.
The New York Times has called him one of the most influential directors in Broadway and the Hollywood history. Elia’s career began with New York’s Group Theater, and he developed the method acting – a technique in which actors use their experience to produce bright emotions on stage.
It turns out that Elia Kazan is the beautiful actress Zoe Kazan's grandfather. She is known for such movies as The Savages, Revolutionary Road, It's Complicated, Happy. Thank You. More. Please., Meek's Cutoff, Ruby Sparks, and more.
She has opened up about growing up in a famous family. Zoe claimed she had normal grandpa memories of Elia, who passed away when she was 20 years old. Zoe also added she was a regular child, like everybody else, and her famous grandfather didn’t mean she was somehow special:
People really do make the assumption that I had some weirdo Hollywood upbringing, but my parents are incredibly down-to-earth people who worked really hard to raise us in a way that was healthy. We had family dinner every night.
Zoe Kazan inherited her grandfather's passion, and she enjoys screenwriting as much as her grandfather and parents. Nevertheless, she has some personal reasons for it:
Cause I was bored, to be totally frank. When you're a young actor and you're just starting out, you're spending all of your time auditioning and very little time actually acting.
It turns out Elia Kazan is the gorgeous actress Zoe's grandfather. She's following in his footsteps and will surely surprise us in the future.
