Oprah Winfrey is clearing the air about the status of her friendship with Meghan Markle's mom, Doria Ragland.
Just after the royal wedding, the foremost television personality was rumored to have booked an interview with Ms. Ragland and the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Both women were expected to talk about Ragland's new life, the transition her daughter had made to royal life, and the racism she faced.
She was photographed visiting the lavish California home of Oprah just weeks before the wedding.
As anticipation builds for the said interview, Oprah has set the record straight.
On the red carpet for the premiere of her new series Love Is __, she told ET that her time with Ms. Ragland was not for an interview.
It would appear that Oprah and Ragland simply spent the time bonding over yoga and kumquats dessert.
The TV stalwart finds it hilarious that people think she was trying to bribe the mother of the duchess for an interview.
She said there was no interview in the works. Oprah, however, did not rule out the possibility of getting an interview with her new friend someday soon.
