Awww! Serena Williams Can't Wait To Teach Her 1-Year-Old Daughter About Strength And True Beauty
Days ago, Serena Williams' daughter Alexis Olympia gave fans a golden mother-daughter moment when she was caught on camera cheering for her mom during a game. Now, the tennis icon is opening up about the beautiful relationship they share.
Williams and her tech exec husband Alexis Ohanian welcomed their daughter in 2017, months before they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, attended by a few Hollywood big names.
The excited parents shared news of their daughter's birth on social media and were immediately overwhelmed with good wishes.
Teaching her daughter about beauty and strength
Fast forward to 2019, Olympia is all grown up and watching her mom play already.
What's more, she's totally going to be a momma's girl as Williams reveals in a brand new interview as the cover girl for Allure. She began by opening up about loving every minute of her pregnancy.
Despite the fact that she almost died during her c-section, as soon as she was strong enough, she insisted on being the one to carry her child as they returned home.
But their relationship transcends a loving mother-daughter bond. Williams is determined to teach her daughter about strength and beauty that trumps good features.
When I tell her she’s beautiful, I want to teach her that she’s beautiful from the inside. Giving is beauty. Being kind and humble is the ultimate beauty. I want her to know that being strong is never easy. Not in this world we are living in.... Standing up for yourself is not going to be easy, but it’s always eventually respected.
The proud mom would have been happy with just about any healthy child, but she's thrilled it turned out to be a girl.
She can't wait to raise another queen and teach her there are no limits.
