Rosie O'Donnell Finally Admits Her Comments Began The Messy Fight Between Her And Donald Trump
The quarrel between Rosie O'Donnell and Donald Trump has become the stuff of legends, but few people know what really caused their messy fight in the first place. Here’s what we know.
The origin of their beef
In 2006, O’Donnell came for Trump in a merciless takedown while she was still a host on The View.
After he refused to strip the then Miss USA Tara Conner of her title following a drug and underage drinking scandal, she called him a snake-oil skin man and attacked his hair.
She did not spare his failed businesses and marriages either, stating that he had no right to pass himself off as a moral compass.
Trump becomes obsessed with bullying O'Donnell
In Trump’s outraged response to People magazine, he promised to make her regret the day she made those comments, but he did not make any moves to sue her. Instead, in true Trump fashion, he has dedicated the rest of his life (it would seem) to attacking the comedian without any clear reason.
And when she appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers in 2017, O'Donnell admitted her comments was what began their beef.
But, she completely does not mind that she's made a lifelong enemy in Trump. In fact, she said she’d been depressed since he became President and had since then spent her days tweeting against his government.
Is Trump ready to bury the hatchet?
Despite small, civil gestures from Trump – he reached out online when she had a heart attack in 2012 – their feud is not ending any time soon. If anything, Rosie O’Donnell is committed to getting Trump out of the White House.
She has accused him of orchestrating the worst bullying experience of her life – he's constantly fat-shamed her and called her dumb.
Trump on his part says she started the whole mess in the first place.
