After years of fear and struggling with her true self, Ellen Page finally found happiness and became who she was meant to be.
The 32-year-old actress came out as a lesbian on St. Valentine’s Day in 2014. She made a moving speech, declaring that the move wasn’t just to get the truth out there, but to provide support and a loud voice to the whole LGBTQ community.
Three years after she came out, the Inception star found the woman she now wants to spend the rest of her life with.
Ellen met dancer and choreographer Emma Portner in July 2017 and was spellbound by her talent! Their romance developed fast, and the two women realized their feelings were more than a mutual admiration.
Ellen and Emma didn't waste any time and tied the knot in January 2018. The actress broke the news to her online followers with these adorable snaps:
After one year of married life, Ellen knows: meeting Emma is the best thing that's ever happened in her life. The two women share a home in the Hollywood Hills, and their married life is in a perfect harmony.
In a recent interview with Balance, Ellen adorably gushed about life with her lovely wife:
I feel different in the sense that I just love it so much. She’s the love of my life and I don’t really have a word for it other than this brand new, all-encompassing feeling that…
I guess it just feels really grounding and really beautiful. Absolutely I’ve been in love before, and this was definitely a very different new kind and new form, clearly.
What makes their love story all the more romantic is that they knew they belong together even before they met in person. In an interview with The New York Times, Ellen recalled seeing one of Emma’s dance videos on Instagram and thinking:
I thought, damn, this girl is so talented and so cool. I knew right away we were both creative spirits.
Emma knew they were a match even earlier, when she saw a teen Ellen on TV. She told The NYT:
I watched one of Ellen’s films when I was about 12 and I remember my friend saying: ‘You are just like this girl.’
I knew we’d cross paths someday — I just wasn’t quite sure when or how.
This adorable couple proves that true love knows no limits!
