You may or may not like what Donald Trump says, but there’s at least one thing he said that most people can agree with. The President called Elvis Presley “the True King of Rock-and-Roll” when he posthumously awarded him the Presidential Medal of Freedom on November 16.

You could see that President Trump is a fan when Presley’s rendition of How Great Thou Art played during the ceremony. He looked very inspired!

Trump compared himself to Elvis Presley

On Monday, at a rally in Tupelo, Mississippi – the singer’s hometown – Trump claimed people used to say he and Presley looked alike in their younger years. Huh?

Trump said:

I shouldn’t say this, you’ll say I'm very conceited because I’m not but other than the blonde hair, when I was growing up they said I looked like Elvis. Can you believe it? I always considered that a great compliment.

Such a comparison does sound like a compliment (you've probably noticed that the President often compliments himself), but is there any truth to this claim?

How people reacted

People of Twitterverse had different reactions to Donald Trump’s remark, but most expressed disbelief. Needless to say, many pointed out the fact that the King of Rock-an-Roll served in the Army at the height of his career and Trump dodged the draft when he was young.
