If you ever thought that being a chef is not profitable enough, take a look at Nigella Lawson. She can boast a successful career as a professional cook, food writer, and broadcaster.
Lawson sold over 3 million cookery books and regularly appears on TV sharing her delicious recipes on her own show.
Not a penny for the kids
She might be a wealthy lady, but she won’t give her children even a penny when she passes away.
Even though her ex-husband, Charles Saatchi, disagreed with her decision, Lawson is determined that parents shouldn’t pass their wealth on their children. But why doesn’t she want her 2 kids to be financially secure?
Nigella explains that she wants them to understand that they have to work to earn money. She comments:
I am determined that my children should have no financial security. It ruins people not having to earn money.
It might sound harsh, but there's truth in it. It doesn’t mean that the TV chef doesn’t love her children. On the contrary, she just wishes to protect them.

After her public divorce with Saatchi, which was widely discussed by the press, all Lawson could think is her kids’ safety. Despite that, she’s not always able to protect them from the scandals that have been blown up by the media. At least, she can teach them how to earn their own money.
