The news about Prince Philip being involved in a car crash made headlines last week. Some people were worried if the 97-year-old royal is OK, while others questioned how that could happen.

It turns out that the Queen’s husband was actually driving the car. Moreover, he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. One would think a car crash would make the royal more careful, but he was reportedly spotted on the road again 48 hours after the incident and without a seatbelt.

While social media raised questions as to whether the 97-year-old should even be driving, the controversial English TV host Piers Morgan went even further and released a written attack on the royal.

“The rudest human being I have ever met”

Morgan wrote what he really thinks about the Queen’s husband in a column for the Daily Mail. He recalled an unpleasant meeting with the Duke, which took place 20 years ago at Prince Charles’ birthday party.

The journalist started with a bold statement that said:

Prince Philip is the rudest human being I have ever met.

Morgan proceeds to tell the tale of his encounter with the Prince, claiming that the royal refused to shake his hand when he extended it for a handshake.

Prince Philip then asked who Piers was. At that time Morgan held was the editor of the Daily Mirror, which he stated to the royal. The journalist claims that the Duke stared at him, full of “disgust and revulsion”, and walked away without saying a single word.

Pierce writes that even though he understands the royal’s dislike of the press, his rudeness wasn’t the thing that surprised him the most. He explains:

What staggered me was how he was prepared to be SO rude to someone who was an invited guest at his son’s birthday party.

Nonetheless, it’s funny that Morgan talks about rudeness when he is known for his criticizing comments directed towards celebs and the royal family. However, we must agree with his words that 97-year-olds shouldn’t drive.

One thing we can’t understand is his dislike of the Duchess of Sussex. The journalist roasted her on his Twitter account, as well as on TV on numerous occasions.

Fair enough, he can say whatever he wants. But we can’t get rid of the feeling that he might be crossing the line a little bit.
