However, the tickets for the event to support her memoir, Becoming, isn't something that everyone can afford, which came as a surprise to many of Obama’s followers.

The book tour

Michelle Obama has kept a relatively low profile since she said goodbye to the White House. But now the former first lady is returning to the public in a dramatic fashion.

Obama is embarking on a 10-city tour to promote her memoir titled “Becoming,” which is set to be published on November 13. The tour is put together by the largest concert promoter in the world, Live Nation, and will begin in Chicago, Michelle’s hometown. Many other authors have had book tours that looked like concerts, but there has been nothing like this before.

But if you want to see the former first lady during her tour, you’ve got to pay and pay big. A front row seat at the Barclays Center with a 'meet and greet package' will cost you no less than $3,000. The more modest option is a fifth-row seat for $1,256.
