Spears often shares pictures of herself and her sons, and it is fascinating to see how much they have grown. Even she confesses that the boys are catching up with her fast, saying in her photo comment, “The boys are bigger than me now!!!!!”.

With her career seemingly back on track, Spears has her hands full, but it looks like she still makes out enough time for Sean and Jayden. But the family picture is far from rosy.

PEOPLE reports that her ex-husband Kevin Federline is demanding the court grant him more money from Spears due to child support for their sons. At present, Federline receives $20,000, and he claims that the amount is not enough to take care of the children.

Celebrity divorce lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan, who currently represents Federline, says that his client should be getting a lot more from Spears on child support.

We think the reasonable needs for the children while they would be in Kevin’s custody is probably three times what he’s currently receiving.

Federline says he earns about $3,000 a month. He says he is unable to afford the luxuries their mother provides them since she earns upwards of $34 million a year. Kaplan supports these claims.

The standard of living of the children while the low-income parent … doesn’t have to be identical, but it’s structured in a way that the child support orders enable the children to enjoy the benefit of the standard of living both parents can provide while they’re with both parents.

The Blast reported in February that Federline was seeking to renegotiate the $20,000 child support Spears is paying. However, Kaplan says that all attempts had been rebuffed by Jamie Spears, the pop star’s father, who was granted conservatorship of her estate.

One thing is certain, Spears is particular about the welfare of her children. And besides requests from Federline, they seem to be doing just fine. In 2015, she made it clear to PEOPLE that her children were all that really matters to her.

My kids come first in my life, bottom line.

Whichever way the court case may sway, Spears seems sure to keep to her word and consider her children’s well-being above all else.
