Loss of a loved one is always painful. The death of a child minutes after she was born, is even more haunting. Hayes family went through it. They are now sharing their experience of collecting broken pieces after this damage.
Their little baby passed away
The music career of Walker Hayes had just taken off to new heights. Then he and his wife, Laney, suffered the agonizing loss of their 7th child. Baby girl, Oakleigh Klover Hayes died right after her delivery.
In a candid interview with PEOPLE, Walker recalled thinking;
When Laney wakes up, how do I tell her? How am I the one to explain, it’s a girl, but you know, she died?
Let these unbearable words sink in! Their mourning over baby's death made him cancel all his shows. The family is certainly the most important thing for Walker.
How do they feel about the loss now?
As someone whose life revolves around his six kids, Mr. Hayes was broken. Laney had a uterine rupture and it took her months to recover from the physical trauma.
They mentally assured each other how safe Oakleigh is in heaven now. They are thankful for their fans, family, and friends who supported them in such a morbid time.
Recently, while his voice was breaking with emotional pain, he revealed:
More than often, I get sad about missing Oakleigh. It’s a process, and it will be forever.
What is a uterine rupture?
Laney made others aware of this catastrophic, rupture, or tear. It happens due to a weakness in the wall of the uterus. It tends to occur during labor, expelling the baby into the mother’s abdominal cavity.

This, unfortunately, deprives the baby of blood flow, quickly suffocating him. Mostly, previous c-sections weigh this risk. Even the mere thought of this phenomenon can make the heart sink.
