Date August 13, 2018 09:34

Ever since Eva Longoria became a mom, her fans have been following the actress' motherhood journey with blissful adoration. It seems that the Desperate Housewives star was always a mom, but there was a time in her life when she wasn't sure she'd ever have kids.

Leading up to a baby

When Longoria married her second husband, Tony Parker, in 2007, everyone thought that the pregnancy announcement was just a matter of time. They seemed like a perfect couple: successful, beautiful, and so in love with each other. But in 2011, their union collapsed, and hearts of Longoria's fans were broken.

Years went by, Eva was getting older and started having doubts about her future as a mother. She revealed to PEOPLE during an interview in 2015:

I just turned 40, so I have thought, ‘Is time running out? I should be thinking about [children], but I feel like my life is full.

But in 2016, Longoria tied the knot with José "Pepe" Bastón and became a stepmom to his three children. The actress was finally completely happy. She said to PEOPLE:

We are fulfilled. If there is anything else to come, it would be icing on the cake.

Her biggest blessing was yet to come.

Living the dream

After becoming a mother, Eva realized she was meant to have a baby and nurture him. She often posts photos of her son Santiago and their family with Bastón on her social media. We don't think we've ever seen the actress so happy.

The actress had to return back to work less than 2 months after giving birth, but she missed him greatly. Eva revealed she even missed the late night feeding and didn't care about not getting enough sleep:

I miss him, I have to feed him every three hours. At night, I miss him when he’s sleeping so it’s not like, 'Yay, I get to sleep three hours!' I’m like, 'Ugh, I guess I will go to sleep.'
