Queen Elizabeth is the Queen of the United Kingdom as well as Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. By the way, she is considered to be the longest serving monarch in the British history. She has been on the throne for 66 years already.
Queen Elizabeth became the queen at a really young age – she was 25 when her father, King George VI, passed away.
In the interview with CBS, Queen Elizabeth revealed that her coronation day was, indeed, horrible.
She still remembers the bumpy carriage ride:
Horrible. It's not meant to be traveling in at all. It's just not – it's only sprung on leather. Not very comfortable.
But the carriage ride was not the only problem during that day. It was rather difficult for Queen Elizabeth to wear the crown, as it was very heavy. She still makes jokes about how heavy it was, saying she had to keep her head straight, as if she leaned forward, she would break her neck, and the crown would fall off.
By the way, when Queen Elizabeth was born, she was not the first one in line to the British throne. She was only third, after her grandfather George V and her uncle King Edward VIII.
So, many years have already passed since that day. Nevertheless, Queen Elizabeth still remembers that bumpy carriage ride.
