The series premiered 21 years ago and ran for 7 seasons. Its main character, Buffy, is a young woman with special abilities that protects the world from demons and supernatural forces.

Joss Whedon, who stands behind the original classic, is also on board as an executive producer.

Casting for the main role of Buffy has also not yet been determined. According to Hollywood Reporter, a black actress, whose name hasn’t been revealed, is to be cast for the iconic role as Buffy.

In the original series, the vampire slayer was portrayed by a talented actress, Sarah Michelle Gellar.

By the way, last year, most of the original Buffy’s cast reunited to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary.
