On The 5th Anniversary Of ‘Glee’ Star Cory Monteith’s Passing, His Mother Speaks Out How She Coped With The Loss Of Her Child

It’s been 5 years since we lost a favorite Glee star, Cory Monteith. He was so young and has so many dreams to work on. On the fifth anniversary of Cory’s sad passing, his mother and Glee co-star remember the actor with touching tributes.

Five years ago, the world lost a young star, Cory Monteith. The actor’s demise was caused by an accidental mixed drug toxicity.

After all these years, Cory’s family and friends couldn’t deal with his sad passing. His mother was the one who suffered most of all.

Ann McGregor still can’t get out of her mind the moment she heard the devastating news. She got a call from Cory’s girlfriend, Lea Michelle:

Lea was yelling, ‘Is it true, is it true about Cory?’ and I said, ‘What about Cory?’ I had heard nothing. And then police knocked on my front door.

Only after 5 years, Mrs. McGregor opened up about the pain of losing her child. She said:

I just shut off all emotions, and I was numb.

Another person who probably suffered the same pain after Cory’s passing was his girlfriend and co-star in Glee, Lea Michelle.


Lea honors Cory’s memory on every anniversary of his passing. This year was not an exception. Michelle shared a heart-melting tribute to her beloved friend, partner, and soulmate. She wrote:

There are some who bring a light so great to the world, that even after they have gone, the light remains.

We know how hard it could be to cope with the loss of your loved ones. We sincerely hope Cory’s mother will find the inner strength to move on. Anyways, her beloved son will always live in her heart.
