Intense battle

Do you believe in destiny? Because we do...Even if it comes as a sudden death or a severe disease out of the blue sky.

In 2001, Suzanne acknowledged the public about her breast cancer. She forwent any treatment, including chemotherapy and other pieces of advice from healthcare professionals.

Hearing the news that you have cancer is hard, but the Three's Company star found humor even in her health issue.

I thought, how ironic — I was known on ‘Three’s Company’ as the Queen of the Jiggle. I believe this happened to me because I was a sex symbol — whatever that is.

By these words, she implied that she could spread the awareness about breast cancer and share its dark spots with the world.

My cancer has become a veiled gift because when confronted with the standard of care I looked at the doctor, and I said, ‘I can’t do this.’ And he said, ‘But you’ll die.’ And I said, ‘I honestly believe I will die if I do what you tell me. The idea of flooding my body with chemical poison just doesn’t reckon with who I am.

She did a lumpectomy and refused to put something 'foreign' (aka breast implant or TRAM flap reconstruction) because she wanted to be the way she should have been.

Sommer's recommendations on treating breast cancer

Though she refused chemo-treatment, she decided to use medications to strengthen her immune system, i.e.,  Iscador from Switzerland.

Even though she did radiation back then, she wouldn't do it today, since it's just not "the right choice." Instead, Suzanne reconsidered her lifestyle and decided to change her diet, some habits, and overall well-being.

Sleep is a game-changer. I decided to eat as though my life depended on it. And that I would eliminate negative thoughts, and I would think of everything from a place of gratitude.
