Fake Trump: Twitter On Rampage As The President Shares 2017 Photo Of 9/11 Tribute

In commemoration of the September 9/11 terror attacks, President Donald Trump shared this picture on his Instagram. The image showed the President and First Lady Melania flanked by White House staff and U.S. Marines on the White House lawn.
While the picture may have looked ordinary to most people, some sharp-eyed Twitter users noticed something off. Standing to the right of the picture are two notable former members of the White House staff, Hope Hicks and Omarosa Manigault Newman.
Trump honors 9/11 by posting a picture of the White House staff at attention this morning… except it includes Omarosa and Hope Hicks, who left months ago. So it’s an old pic he faked. (Also, it’s rainy today in DC, not sunny.) https://t.co/3MeGq432ji https://t.co/Z9KaSioeyP pic.twitter.com/W4fpXGJ5nd— John Aravosis 🇺🇸 (@aravosis) September 11, 2018
Both women have long moved on from the White House and this clearly means the picture was not taken on September 9/11 this year. So why did the President share an old picture to begin with?
Yup, wifey tweeted it last year. What is also notable here is @PressSec sticking out like a sore thumb in a bright red dress on a day of Remembrance such as 9/11!!!#NoDecorum #NoClass pic.twitter.com/aL1DKYTWEO— A.. Jutta H. Brink (@AJuttaHBrink1) September 12, 2018
Was he trying to fool Americans?
To make matters even worse, the President’s note suggests the picture is new as he posted it just before leaving the capital for Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Departing Washington, D.C. to attend a Flight 93 September 11th Memorial Service in Shanksville, Pennsylvania with Melania. #NeverForget
Some commentators have called out the President for being guilty of the same “fake news” he constantly cries about to the media. Others suggested the President was too preoccupied with his tweeting to organize a new photo this year.
You couldn't take yourself away from Twitter to do a new photo today, huh? This is an old shot because Hope Hicks and @OMAROSA are pictured front/right. More fakery from your fraudulent, feckless facsimile of an administration. Pitiful. And typical. #NeverForget— Lesley Abravanel (@lesleyabravanel) September 11, 2018
Maybe Trump was feeling forgiving and invited Omarosa back. Do you think she recorded it?— Barbara J May (@BarbaraJMay2) September 11, 2018
I remember seeing that pic last year and thinking, "Oh look, he's trying to copy Obama's WH 9/11 moment of silence pic"— Notgoing Totellyou (@M5B1tch) September 12, 2018
Drama in Shanksville
The President is still facing a lot of criticism for his double fist-pump and grimace greeting in Shanksville. This time, the fire is coming from both sides of the political divide. Many believe that the President’s gestures were inappropriate and out of place on what is supposed to be a solemn day of remembrance.
Trump does fist pump en-route to #Shanksville Memorial Ceremony - This shines a spotlight on @realDonaldTrump INABILITY to feel #empathy for another person's loss; and his avoidance of #NYC #September11th memorial reflects his inability to admit any weakness #Trump pic.twitter.com/pydFlG8VK0— ML CLIFF (@mlcliff) September 11, 2018
President Trump is well known for his out-of-the-box behavior and surprising comebacks to criticism. Is he going to respond to his critics this time and maybe apologize for his behavior or will he blame the Democrats for inciting Twitter against him?
