“I Hope It's All Worth It For You, Omarosa”: Lara Trump Responds To Omarosa's $15K/Month Job Bribe Recording

Date August 17, 2018

Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman hit President Donald Trump hard in the gut on Thursday with the release of a secret tape where Lara Trump offered her a $15k/month job in exchange for her silence.

In the tape, Lara offered the monthly salary that comes up to $180,000 a year, with the expectation that Omarosa would remain with the President’s camp. The release of the tape has stoked the raging fire between the President and his former aide.

Meanwhile, Lara Trump released a statement about the tapes, suggesting that neither the President nor any member of his team asked her to make the offer. Lara claims the job offer was a gesture of goodwill, an action she says she had cause to regret later.

Woman to woman, I shared a connection with Omarosa as a friend and a campaign sister, and I am absolutely shocked and saddened by her betrayal and violation on a deeply personal level.

Lara Trump claims she had a personal and emotional connection with Omarosa and was sad at the firing, as were other members of the Trump family. The job she says was their way of showing how much they still cared.

We still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally.

She also called the tape a “fraud”, stating that the conversation about the campaign job happened over a period of weeks, suggesting that Omarosa was open to the idea, to begin with.

For the most part, the question of legality is again making the news. Was Lara Trump in her right offering Omarosa a job for her silence? Is Omarosa guilty of breach of confidence by releasing the recording or even making them in the first place?

And how come no member of the Trump family defended Omarosa when she was attacked by President Trump if they cared so much?

On Tuesday, the Trump presidential campaign organization has instituted legal action against Omarosa, claiming that she signed an NDA in 2016 barring her from making any statements deemed damaging to the reputation of the President.

Omarosa continues to speak to the press about happenings in the White House during her time and seems set to release even more recordings and new information in the coming weeks.
