Melania Strikes Back! FLOTUS Responds To Twitter Attack By Politician Mark Roberts Thorough Her Spokesperson

Date August 2, 2018

On July 30, US congressional candidate for the State of Oregon Mark Roberts posted a tweet that many observers considered foul in reference to the First Lady, Melania Trump. Several people spoke out against what they considered cyberbullying. Even Donald Trump. Jr. had a stern word for Roberts.

Despite the criticism, Roberts was unapologetic. Amidst the clamor, several Twitter users insisted that Roberts be dropped from the congressional race. The First Lady did not immediately comment on the incident.

On August 1, Stephanie Grisham, spokeswoman to the First Lady, commented on Robert’s tweets while speaking to Glamour. This is the first official reaction that has come from the office of the FLOTUS.

This is just more hypocritical intolerance from those who oppose her husband’s administration. To say such ugly words about a mother, wife, and our First Lady is not just a pathetic attempt at getting himself in the news; it is disturbing and despicable.

Roberts’ notoriety may be on the rise, but his tweet is unlikely to get him a lot of popularity especially among women. He later posted a message from Twitter that seems to be a response to a complaint made by another user.

Apparently, Roberts’ tweet did not violate Twitter Rules and as such, he faces no penalties for his actions. Still, he is getting his fair day in the court of public opinion.
