There are only so many Hollywood love stories that compare to that of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas. At first glance, the 25-year age difference between them is reason enough for some observers to wonder how they manage to keep their marriage together.
Until someone actually tells me he's 25 years older, I don't actually think about it. - Catherine Zeta-Jones in Hello!, 2016.
However, age has never been an obstacle to the duo. They got married in 2000 and have two beautiful children together. With Zeta-Jones’ career rising and Douglas having to take the back seat due to health complications, they remained as devoted to each other as they were at the start of their relationship.
We're in different places in our lives career-wise, so we're not vying for attention – there's no tug of war. - Catherine Zeta-Jones in Hello!, 2016.
Three days ago, the stunning actress shared this delightful throwback picture of the first time she met Douglas. In 1998, the couple met at the Deauville Film Festival. Catherine was promoting her new film “The Mask of Zorro” while Michael was unveiling his thriller “A Perfect Murder.”
She first saw him passing by in the lobby, completely oblivious that she would be walking down the aisle two years later. Now, after over 2 decades, the couple is still very much in love.
Zeta-Jones often shares pictures of her family on social media as a proof that they share an unbreakable bond. Last year, the family visited the Taj Mahal and Douglas looked the picture of good health as he posed with the family.
In 2013, the couple went through a rough patch that led to a brief separation. Zeta-Jones was battling her bipolar disorder and stress as a fallout of Douglas’ cancer battle. A few months after the split, the couple were able to find their love and have been together since then.
18 years is a commendable amount of time to be married to a person and we wish Zeta-Jones and Douglas the best of health and more happy years ahead.
