Ruefully, their marriage didn't last for a long time, and after 6 years they called it quits. Ferguson later admitted that her decision to divorce Prince Andrew did not come willingly. She said circumstances made her go ahead with the divorce.

Nevertheless, Fergie stayed quite close to the Royal family and raised their beautiful daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

We are used to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle or Prince William and Kate Middleton breaking some rules written in the protocol, but they aren't alone.

In Oprah Winfrey's documentary series Finding Sarah: From Royalty To The Real World, the Duchess of York shared her flashbacks about the kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

That was one hell of a kiss. Everyone told us not to kiss on the balcony, so we did it deliberately. We both were so in love.

Showing any PDA is 'strictly' prohibited in the Royal family, although almost no one follows this rule anymore, since both Princes kissed their wives on their wedding day.

But yeah, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson still broke royal protocol while head over heels in love. She also recalled the whirl of their passion and bond before and during their marriage.

Her royal rebellion was not limited to her wedding day. Fergie paved the way for Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton as she rewrote the rules on speaking engagements.

Emotional statement

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson divorced 22 years ago, but people haven't stopped 'encouraging' them to remarry. And that's where the Duchess of York decided to bare her heart.

We’re the happiest divorced couple in the world. We’re divorced to each other, not from each other.

Ferguson then admitted that they're making it work and simply can't stay away from each other, because they're so perfect together. Although she didn't admit anything particular, Andrew and Fergie never deny their warm and close relationships, stating that they're 'one family' after all this time.

Maybe they can wipe the slate clean and reunite down the road? It's so strange to realize that people can't be together due to some unknown reasons, even though they love each other and they are true soulmates!
