Prince William and Kate Middleton's marvelous fairytale ensued a long time ago. Though today they remind us of having a healthy and true relationship, the couple had own obstacles on the way.

They both met on a fashion show while studying together at St.Andrews University. It was that moment when a vivid spark flashed between Kate and William.

Even though lovebirds were head over heels, they sometimes failed to keep the relationship due to pressure, media attention, and distance. They split two times - in 2004 and 2007. But as we can witness today, the royal couple couldn't stand to be apart from each other.

Now they are famous Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - one of the most prominent couple in the entire world.

Rule-breaker William

It's not a brand-new story that each member of the royal family has to follow the protocol strictly. Yet, Prince William and Kate Middleton sometimes break the rules.

By tying the knot in 2011, the couple broke the royal protocol dating back 350 years. Their wedding was quite traditional and reminded a lot of nuptials of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

According to the book The Duchess of Cambridge: How Kate Middleton Became A Future Queen by Jessica Jayne, Prince William broke a three-centuries-tradition as he stepped in the aisle with a "commoner."

Back in the old days, a commoner marrying into royalty may just be a dream but times have changed, Kate would be the first commoner to marry a prince in 350 years.

Despite the rule-breaking, Kate was delightedly accepted by the Queen and other family members. Maybe Duke broke the ancient tradition, but he did for eternal happiness with his beautiful wife.

The second rule-breaker in the couple

Kate Middleton reportedly ghosted some advice and traditions during the wedding in 2011.

According to Ashley Pearson, author of the book William & Kate: The Journey, Kate was asked to make her hair up as the old tradition stated. However, Duchess preferred her hair down with flowing curls.

By the way, Prince William allegedly likes Kate with long curls. That's probably the additional explanation why she decided to make such hairdo and why she still does it today.
