Duchess Of Sussex Broke Her Own Fashion Tradition With The Bright Brandon Maxwell Sheath Dress

The Duchess of Sussex turned heads once again during the Commonwealth Youth event with her sunshine yellow dress.
This lovely bright number was a creation of the US designer Brandon Maxwell, who's also a stylist of such celebrities as Lady Gaga and Blake Lively. But you'd be surprised to know that this dress is a major detraction from Meghan's recent fashion choices.
First unusual thing we noticed about the duchess' dress is its color. Lately, Meghan has been favoring muted pastels, but this time, she opted for a pop of yellow, which we very much enjoyed.
But going for a bright color isn't the only thing the 36-year-old royal changed about her outfit. This is the first time the duchess went with a dress made my a male designer since the royal wedding.
Meghan's wedding ceremony and reception dresses were created by Clare Waight Keller and Stella McCartney, both talented female designers.
She also went with women-led fashion houses for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebration, her first joint trip with the Queen, and her debut at the Royal Ascot.
The reason for mostly going with female designers is that the duchess is a known feminist, and on many occasions, she demonstrated her support for women.
This is certainly a very strong dedication, so it's surprising that Meghan favored a male designer. Then again, she has already proven herself as a good feminist, so why not change things up once in a while?
It seems the Duchess of Sussex fell in love with this $1,495 yellow sheath dress so much, she was willing to break her own tradition and drop a pretty penny for it.
What did you think about this dress? Was it worth the hassle?
