Final performance

News emerged recently that Franklin, 76, had lost her 8-year battle with cancer. She was diagnosed in 2010.

Before the multiple Grammy winner finally closed the curtain on her long career, she continued to put up a brave fight. In August 2017, she gave her final performance surrounded by family and friends at the Mann Center in Philadelphia.

It's not clear how much longer the Queen of Soul has to live, but she has reportedly been receiving hospice care at her home according to US Weekly.

Her publicist Gwendolyn Quinn also confirmed to the website that Stevie Wonder stopped by Franklin's home to visit her.

But for now, details about Franklin's exact condition remain sketchy.

There are reports that claim she's in a hospital and other that claim she's been at home and is in fact breathing unaided and responding to visitors.
