The dress

The stunning and elegant gown was created by the acclaimed British designer Clare Waight Keller. Last year, Keller took the position of Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy, which made her the first female Artistic Director there.

Ms. Waight Keller’s timeless class and aesthetics as well as impeccable tailoring made the bride choose one of her creations.

The British talent has previously served as the creative head of two globally influential fashion houses – Pringle of Scotland and Chloé. Ms. Waight Keller closely worked with Meghan on the design.

The dress, made of silk cady, is the perfect example of a timeless minimal elegance that the iconic House of Givenchy represents. It features a graphic open bateau neckline that beautifully frames the shoulders and elegantly accentuates the waist.

The veil

Meghan wished to have all 53 countries of the Commonwealth incorporated in her journey, so Clare Keller designed a very special veil, embroidered with flowers, representing the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country, united in one beautiful composition.

After working on Meghan ‘s wedding dress in secret, designer Clare Waight Keller is finally opened out about what it was like to create it. The 47-year-old Keller wrote on Instagram:

A Dream Day accompanying stunning #meghanmarkle on her journey to become the Duchess of Sussex in @givenchyofficial.

On the morning of the wedding, the Queen announced that from now on, Harry and Meghan will be known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
