The 49-year-old celebrated the Father’s Day by posting a photo of him with his dad, Chris, with a loving message.

The Australian star wrote sweet words that brought many to tears, us included:

Happy Father’s Day to the man who taught me to show respect for others, for education, for being led by your passions. who taught me to never stop growing and learning. To work hard and realise that preparation is the bedrock for success. And above all, to find purpose beyond oneself. I love you dad.

The heartbreaking past was remembered by his fans who left emotional comments to Hugh’s post.

When Jackman was only a child, his mom Grace fled to the UK, thus leaving parenting of her 5 children to Chris. In 2011, the actor told in the interview with The Sun that he reconciled with his mother, who would return to Australia to visit her children once a year when they were growing up.

He also revealed that his mom was suffering from post-natal depression, which wasn’t diagnosed, when she left Australia and her family.

Chris was a great role model to Hugh, as he has become an amazing dad himself, building a strong relationship with his two children with wife Deborra-Lee Furness, 18-year-old Oscar Maximilian Jackman and 12-year-old Ava Eliot Jackman. The Aussie actor celebrated his anniversary in April with touching words to his family:

I believe in life we need to see and truly be seen by the most important people in our lives. Deb, from day one, we had that. 22 years later..it only gets deeper. You and the kids are the greatest gift I will ever receive. I love you a gazillion times around the word.

Hugh might be Wolverine on the screen, but he is caring father with a kind and forgiving heart in real life.
