Palace Confirmed: Prince Philip Will Not Miss His Favorite Grandson's Wedding

Date May 18, 2018

It’s official - Prince Philip will make his post-surgery debut at his grandson's wedding on Saturday!

His attendance was under the big question since he had hip replacement surgery at the hospital in London on April 4, and he has been recovering at home ever since.

Luckily, his place of recuperation is Windsor Castle, which is a short walk from St. George’s Chapel, where Harry and Meghan will wed.

A few weeks before the ceremony, a palace spokesperson stated that the whole family “very much hope” that Philip would be able to attend the wedding.

Unfortunately, the person Meghan hoped to see - her father Thomas Markle Sr., won’t be joining the guests due to his health condition.

His Royal Highness made his first public appearance on May 11th when he joined the Queen at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, driving himself to Home Park, which is situated behind the castle. The monarch looked as happy as ever, finally having her husband back. She couldn’t stop smiling throughout the entire event and was noticeably in good spirits.

Prince Philip looked like he was enjoying his freedom. He will celebrate his 97th birthday very soon, on June 10. Due to his recovering period, Philip had to delay his first meeting with his newest great-grandchild, William and Kate’s son, Prince Louis.

Hopefully, he will make up the leeway as soon as possible!
