'Smoke-Filled' Plane Carrying Melania Trump Is Forced To Make An Emergency Landing

A plane with US First Lady Melania Trump faced an emergency. According to one of the journalists traveling with Mrs. Trump, a smell of burning and a “haze of smoke” filled the cabin 10 minutes after the aircraft took off. The media report stated:

A small amount of smoke could be seen inside the plane and the interior filled with a burning smell.

All the passengers on board were given wet towels to hold over the faces in case the smell becomes too strong. The aircraft was forced to turn back and make an emergency landing.

Luckily, no one got hurt. A spokesperson for the first lady explained that the reason for the smoke was a “minor mechanical issue." Melania has since continued her journey according to plan and landed in Philadelphia. We are glad the first lady is safe!

After the plane trouble, Melania Trump visited Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Arriving just a little bit late, the first lady apologized, saying:

I'm sorry for a little delay, but it is good to be with all of you today.

Mrs. Trump delivered a short speech at a conference on neonatal abstinence syndrome, which affects kids who were born to opioid-addicted mothers, before touring a neonatal intensive care unit at the hospital.
